Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy

11:52 AM Edit This 1 Comment »
Hi y’all

Anybody knows Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams? It is just too funny… It is one of my favorite books of all times. For a colleague of mine who was getting frustrated with the project we are working on I just gathered a few of my favorite quotes from the book. And I thought I would share them with you as well. Owwww…. I should get back to work now.

“We have normality. I repeat, we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.”
There is a theory which states that if ever for any reason anyone discovers what exactly the Universe is for and why it is here it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another that states that this has already happened.”

“I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.”

“The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair”

“You live and learn. At any rate, you live.”

“For a moment, nothing happened. Then, after a second or so, nothing continued to happen.”

“The Guide is definitive. Reality is frequently inaccurate.”

“I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.”

“Don't Panic”

“The mere thought hadn't even begun to speculate about the merest possibility of crossing my mind.”

“Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.”

“It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.”

“We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty!”

“Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.”

O, and for those of you who would rather see the movie – DON’T. It is just not nearly as funny as the book.

Lately I just can’t seem to find the time to do some serious scrapping. But… something fun did happen. Heather, aka Phreephorm, is the spotlighted designer for this week SAS newsletter. The featured kits are the Rock My World kits, and the newsletter contains layouts with it by Heather’s CT. My layouts are also displayed *proud*. Be sure to get the newsletter, it is full of great freebies!

And Pamela posted some of the entries made for her mix-it-up challenge at SAS. Mine is also shown on her blog. You can still enter, so get scrappin’.

At MIS, they are currently making a big, fat, juicy Thanksgiving member roundup kit and anyone can submit! So yesterday I was trying to create some elements and papers… Pffffew that’s not so easy…but it is fun though.

Well, that’s it for now.

Fun challenge at SAS

Hi everybody

Just a short message tonight - I just made my entry for the SAS-y Mix It Up Challenge . That was fun, and it is great to see what others did with the template - all the layouts are so completely different, and yet they are all using the same elements. This was my entry:

And this was the mix-it-up template created by Princess Pamela (who has some great freebies on her blog as well)

OK, that's it for now, my sweetheart just came home from work so I'm gone!

Thanks for reading,

Hi everybody

Do I have fabulous news - I joined another CT. MIS designer Denise Holland, to some better known as Lady Marine designs, had asked me whether I would be interested in joining her CT. Well sure - she is a terrific designer! Today I received her first kit Ancient Victoria , and of course I couldn't wait to get started. So here's the result!

Have a great evening!

Party!!!!!! Two freebies and a slideshow

8:49 PM Posted In Edit This 2 Comments »
Yes that's right, it's real party here tonight! There are two freebies today...

You know, I just love surfing the web in search of inspiring layouts, fun challenges, amazing designs and of course freebies... So it is great to finally be able to give something back.

Of course the first freebie for tonight is not mine - I am a CT member for Phreephorm and she asked her CT to post this great goodie bag (I have already opened it and have used some of it right away...).

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Just click on the image to download it. If you already downloaded it at one of the other CT blogs, the goody bag is the same on every blog. If you want to leave Phreephorm some love, here is the link to her blog.
But... it's certainly worth while to visit these great ladies this weekend - Phreephorm also asked us to make some quick pages for you using her kits. And these will be posted on each individual CT member's blog.

Maria Nicole Erika Kelly

And here's my quick page freebie for you:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
It was created using things from the goody bag, polka dot papers and based on a template all creations of Phreephorm. Click on the image to download!

Just now I have been playing with the slide show functionality provided by photobucket, and the slideshow on top of this page is what came out. The pictures were taken this afternoon at the playground.

OK, that's it for now, I am going to try finishing another layout tonight...
Hope to see you again soon!

More layouts from me...

Hi everybody,

My little girl just went to bed so that leaves me some time to update my blog. As soon as she wakes up we are going to the playground, she gets all excited when she sees where we are going...

During the summer holidays we were in Italy, Manerba del Garda, and the camping had a small playground. Whenever we went to the playground, Wendy's eyes started shining and she called out 'ground, ground'. She loved the merry go round and the slide, but her true passion was the swing.

Another layout I made using this kit is this one. We went to Velserbeek last fall and the gardeners had made a huge pile of leaves. Dylan went in first, afterwards Wendy, Susan and me.

Well, that's it, I start hearing noises coming from upstairs... But tonight I'll be back with a surprise freebie!!!

Love

I'm back... with a freebie

Hi everybody

Scrapneko just made a blinkie for the Phreephorm design team members _ don´t you just love it..

I made some new layouts using Phreephorm´s kits

Journalling reads:

WHEN I LOOK AT THE STARS AT NIGHT ONE ALWAYS WINKS BACK
Based on template by Theresa Borntreger

Journalling reads:

Your eyes are so special; depending on the colors around you they are bright blue or mysterious green. But they are always the eyes I fall in love with again and again.

Doodle Words Love by Marcee Duggar

My little girl Wendy loves her Bumba, so I had to scrap the both of them. And because I could not find a kit featuring Bumba, I created something myself.

If you like it, you are welcome to download the psd file. Just click on the below preview to download

My first post...

3:00 PM Edit This 2 Comments »

Yesssss my first post on my new blog, dedicated entirely to scrapping... When my daughter was born on December 30, 2005, I started scrapping, just a bit, no real problem. But the past couple of months it's become worse and worse. Yes, I have to admit, I am addicted.

I recently joined Phreephorm's CT and am having so much fun using her kits. That's one talented lady.

So, now for a few layouts I recently created...

Wendy was in the tub when I made this one. It is one of my all-time favorites. I converted it to duotone (slightest bit of blue) and really pulled on the curves. And I guess that was it. I didn´t think it needed more. That´s why I kept the layout very simple, I want the focus to be on the picture.
This paper by Phreephorm is just perfect.O, and wimpers is Dutch for eyelashes...

My baby at six months, her first time in the bubble bath..

Perfect picture for the lettre B in the the SAS-y ABC Challenge. By the way, the layout was based on the sketch provided for the SAS-y Sketch Challenge.

Which means as much as A is for strawberry. Which would be rather ridiculous 'cause strawberry does not start with A. But in Dutch it makes sense. The journalling reads:A is for Aardbei, because when you are born in Beverwijk, you are called Aardbei (strawberry). Mama is a Mug (musquito}, because she was born in Haarlem. And daddy, well, he's an original IJmuidense Vissenkop (fish head).

The template used was by Tracy Drane, who hosts a biweekly template challenge at Make It Scrappy. The templates she provides are amazing, check them out here.
